Alterations FAQs

Questions about Bridal Alterations

Q:   How long do bridal alterations usually take?

A:    Typically a bride will have at least 3 fittings before her dress is 100% complete. We like to start the bridal alterations at least 3 months prior to your wedding date. Alterations can be completed in less time but may be subjected to a rush fee.

Q:    What do I need to bring with me?

A:     You will need to bring the shoes you plan to wear on your wedding along with any undergarments you are planning to wear. This can include a bra, Spanx, corset, lingerie, stickies, slip, etc.

Q:     How much do alterations cost?

A:      Alteration estimates are given on a dress by dress basis. The cost will vary depending on what needs to be done to the dress and the type of detailing that is on the dress. Our average cost for alterations, excluding customizations, is between $275 - $375. We suggest budgeting around $425 for your alterations to be safe.

Q:    Will you alter my dress if I did not buy it at MarWin Bridal?

Q:    Can you customize my wedding dress?

A:     Absolutely! We love to do customizations! If you found a dress that is not exactly what you dreamed of, we can customize it for you. Call the store to schedule your appointment with the seamstress.
